Playoff Quarter Final |

Sat 12pm |
Tottenville |
Tottenville |
W 36-34 |
| Trailing by 12, John Drago engineered 2 drives
with 6 minutes left in the game to lead the Falcons into the
Semi-Finals in what the Staten Island Advance has called "The
Greatest Game Ever Saw". Michael Spencer started the game
off with a 64 yd TD reception on a swing pass from Drago. The
next score came on unbelievable defensive play by Andre Cirino-
the Tottenville QB started to run from the 35 yd line and Cirino
ran up and just stripped the ball from him and then raced 61
yds for the TD. With under 30 seconds left in the 1st half Tottenville
had the ball on the 1 inch line and handed it off to their RB-
Cirino stepped up and again made an amazing play by ripping
the ball right out of his hands as well. With Spencer leaving
the game due to injury, Shameek Champagne stepped up big in
the second half- his 60+ yd catch set up a 2 yd TD plunge by
Cirino. Tottenville then ran off 21 straight points and the
Falcons were trailing 34-22 with 6 minutes left. Drago hit Champagne
with a 15 yd pass to set them up right at about midfield. A
few plays later, faced with a 4th and 9 at the Tottenville 26,
Drago hit back up WR Keith Braswell for a 23 yd first down to
set up Drago's QB sneak for a TD. After a great 3 and out by
the defense and a bad punt, the Falcons took over at the 42.
After marching down field, Drago connected with Tyron Carroll
on a 6 yd TD pass with 4 seconds left to give the Falcons the
win. Drago finished with 203 yds passing and 2 TDs in the air and one on the ground. Cirino finished the day with 70 yds rushing and 2 TDs overall. |
