| Lamont Watson rushed for 176 yds and
3 TDs on runs of 11 yds, 6 yds and 49 yds. Captain Jason Mediate,
Anthony Curran and Jamie Valinoti paved the way for Watson's
big day. Mike Taranto hooked up with Ed Thompson for a 30 yd
TD and Jerry Pierre's 38 yd fourth quarter scamper capped the
scoring. Danny Doyle and Matt Hellman had solid games defesively.
For his effort, Watson was given The NY Post's Athlete of the
Week Award and Newsday's Feat of the Weak Award. |

quarter and the defense came up big all game long. Jamie Valinoti
came up with a big sack on 4th down in the 4th quarter while
Anthony Curran recovered a fumble to end the last drive. |

the opening kickoff 88 yds for a score. He then added 1yd and
2 yd TD jaunts on his way to gaining 83 yds on the ground. Mike
Taranto hit Eddie Thompson for another TD- this time for 36
yds. Mike DiTomasso recovered another fumble and ran this one
back 26 yds for a TD. |

blocks of Matt Helman and Chris Reali to give the Falcons their
first score and the tandem of Mike Taranto and Eddie Thompson
connected again for a 25 yd TD. Rich McConkey, Barry Hodge (2
Ints), Thompson (2 Ints) and Reali all had great games defensively. |

| Eddie Thompson caught 7 balls for 133
yds and 2 TDs (49 yds and 44 yds) as the Falcons rolled to win
number 7. Mike Taranto finished 9-12 for 191 yds passing and
the 2 TDs to Thompson. Lamont Watson ran for 91 yds and a TD.
While Chris Reali had a 1 yd TD plunge and finished with 42
yds rushing on just 6 carries. Jamie Valinoti, Jason Mediate,
Anthony Curran, Sean Malachovsky, Danny DelRosso and Drew Roth
did a great job opening up the running gaps.. |

| The Falcons won their 4th straight Island Championship
and extended the winning streak to 28 games as Lamont Watson
scored on 46 yd and 33 yd runs to give him 2 TDs on 140 yds
rushing. Mike Tranto hit Rob Lane for 10 yds for the other TD.
Barry Hodge had another outstanding game defensively recorded
2 interceptions. Captain Devon Simmons had a big sack for a
7 yd loss to quiet a PR comeback. |

| Lamont Watson ended the regular season on a high
note rushing for 142 yds and 3 TDs (1, 1, 55). Tom DiMicelli
scored on a 5 yd run and Barry Hodge recorded yet another interception
and returned it 43 yds for a TD. |

| The Falcons scored with 43 seconds left
to give Falcons 2 TDs in the fourth quarter to pull out the
win. On 4th and 9 from the Wagner 18, Mike Taranto hit Eddie
Thompson for the TD and kept the Falcons on their title run.
The drive started when Chris Reali stripped the RB and Jason
Mediate recovered at the Wagner 41. Taranto then led the Falcons
on a 13 play, 59 yd march to win the game. The Falcon D had
an amazing day limiting Kennedy to 109 total yds- 56 of which
came on the last drive while in prevent defense. Lamont Watson
ran for 173 yds (60 in the 4th quarter) and added a 13 yd TD
run to set up the final drive heroics. |

| The Offensive Line dominated again allowing
the offense to run for 235 yds. Lamont Watson rushed for 131
yds (2 TDs), Mike Taranto ran for 48 yds (1 TD) and Chris Reali
ran for 42 yds. Eddie Thompson had 3 catches for 61 yds, including
TD receptions of 22 yds and 21 yds. Jason Mediate and Anthony
Viola added interceptions. The Falcons play next week for their
3rd City Title in 4 years. Mike Taranto was named NY Post's
Athlete of the Week. |

| Back to Back Champs!
Mike Taranto ended his storied career with 3 TD passes, including
a 4 yd toss to Lamon Watson with 4:53 left to seal the Falcon
Repeat Championship! Taranto also hit Eddie Thompson for a
32 yd TD and hit Matt Hellman for the first time all year
for a 21 yd TD, which set off the scoring. Watson finished
the day with 73 yds rushing giving him 1,352 yds on the year,
the Staten Island All Time Record- Watson also finished with
another Staten Island Record, 136 points scored. Omar Linwood,
Anthony Curran and Rich McConekey each had 11 tackles, while
Jason Mediate had 10. Joey Tuite had a great day- recording
2 interceptions and a fumble recovery. Mike Taranto, Jason
Mediate and Jamie Valinoti ended their high school football
careers without ever losing game. The Falcons finish the season
with a 32 game winning streak. |
